Ore. to conduct annual record checks of veterinarians

New veterinarians and veterinary technicians in Oregon will have to undergo a background check when obtaining a license, and a mass check will be conducted annually on those with licenses, according to a new requirement from the Oregon Veterinary Medical Examining Board. The change involves an increase in application fees, so Legislature approval may be needed. Public comment will be accepted from September through Oct. 18, the date of the board's next meeting.
