Soaring property insurance rates hit Alabama's Gulf Coast

Property owners along the Gulf Coast of Alabama expected insurance premiums to increase this year, but they have been shocked by average increases of 300%. While reinsurers hike premiums to replenish reserves lost to the 2005 hurricanes, property owners and local officials say the huge increases could seriously harm the local economy.
