Club Car takes a somewhat unorthodox approach to dealer support, by focusing on local dealers rather than national or regional marketing efforts. The company provides separate dealer networks for each of its product lines -- golf carts, the Carry-All commercial UTV and the new XRT consumer line -- and strives for a 30-mile buffer between dealers. "We try to work with dealers. We don't want them on top of each other, but we also don't want to constrain them," said development manager Mike Cotter.
