FDA clears tomatoes, shifts focus to peppers

The FDA has cleared tomatoes as the cause of the salmonella outbreak, saying it is "highly unlikely" that tomatoes currently on the market carry the salmonella Saintpaul strain. The agency has turned its attention to jalapenos and serrano peppers, sending investigators to a packing facility in Mexico that may be a source of the contamination.
