Hybrid-composite bridge supports 26-car locomotive in test

The world's first composite railroad bridge passed a live test, supporting a locomotive pulling 26 coal cars at the Transportation Technology Center. The 30-foot bridge was built out of eight hybrid-composite beams composed of shell, compression reinforcement and tension reinforcement sub-components.
