Could high-tech standardized tests transform education?

As a backlash against the focus on standardized testing grows, there is much anticipation about new assessments being developed for use nationwide. Some educators and experts stake their hopes on the technology-based tests, which they believe will better measure student knowledge and could transform and support innovation in education. However, others call for an end to standardized testing altogether.
