Report: 32% of Americans are planning more trips than in 2009

A survey by PhoCusWright said 32% of Americans plan on taking more trips in 2011 than in 2009, but some trips will be shorter. Carroll Rheem, PhoCusWright's director of research, says this is a sign of the travel industry's healthy recovery. Also, the percentage of respondents who plan to take a discretionary trip rose from 38% to 42%, according to the report.
