Smart meter deployments pepper Europe as capital rolls in

More than half of European households will be using smart meters for their utilities services in the next five years, according to research firm Berg Insight, which predicts that more than $4 billion a year will be flowing into the technology. Smart meter deployments have been completed or are under way in much of northern Europe and in several Mediterranean countries, and plans to commence deployment are reported in the Czech Republic and Poland.
