Calif., S.C. ports record container volume gains in June

The volume of 20-foot-equivalent units at the Port of Long Beach in California rose 1.8% in June versus the year-ago level, while TEU volume at the Port of Charleston in South Carolina climbed 4% in the same period. The Long Beach port also recorded a 14.2% gain in container volume for the first half of 2013 compared with the same period last year, while the Charleston port noted a 9% increase in cargo traffic in the fiscal year ending June 30, year-on-year.
