Construction materials prices slip slightly in June, up 1.5% in 12 months

The cost of building materials in June slipped 0.1% but rose 1.5% in the last 12 months, according to an analysis of producer price index data by the Associated General Contractors of America. Ken Simonson, AGC's chief economist, provides data on the cost of many materials, including concrete, steel, gypsum, lumber and diesel fuel and breaks down the cost increases and decreases in several construction sectors.
