Does professional development need more support from school leaders?

About 30% of superintendents said in a recent survey that they strongly agree their school district "has an effective ongoing professional development program designed for teachers." The survey, conducted by Gallup and Education Week, shows that many superintendents are not confident in their systems of professional development -- despite the availability of resources, writes Hayes Mizell, a fellow with Learning Forward.
