Don't let your smartphone disrupt your next sales meeting

Eye contact is critical during sales meetings, so salespeople should avoid glancing at their smartphones when they are with clients, writes Janet Spirer of Sales Horizons. Reps should also be careful not to make clients feel unappreciated by looking around the room or constantly consulting their notes, she writes.
