A house design offered by the first Solar Decathlon team from Washington, D.C., combines a complete package of conservation and energy-generation technologies to enable its inhabitants to live off the things that nature provides, according to this article. Solar cells and wind turbines provide energy, while a rain screen captures rainwater and the home's gray water is recycled.
