How teacher evaluations, training can help educators improve

While much of the education reform movement has focused on the implementation of methods for evaluating teachers, Stephen Fink, executive director of the University of Washington Center for Educational Leadership, writes in this commentary that such efforts will not result in better teachers without accompanying training that focuses on continuous growth. Also important, Fink writes, is training educators to properly navigate the evaluation system and prepare education leaders to accurately assess classroom teachers.
