ICANN panel says Amazon shouldn't control .Amazon domain

An advisory committee of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers recommends against letting Amazon control the .Amazon domain. The retailer says it wants to use the domain as a platform for innovation and to support company goals. The recommendation comes partly because of objections from Latin American nations served by the Amazon River, says Nao Matsukata, CEO of domain-name advisory FairWinds Partners.
