Ketoacidosis rates in young type 1 diabetes patients remain high

While the prevalence of diabetic ketoacidosis declined in youth with type 2 diabetes, the number remained high in those with type 1 diabetes at 29.8% between 2002 and 2003, 28.8% between 2004 and 2005 and 28.2% between 2008 and 2009, according to a study presented at the ADA 73rd Scientific Sessions.
