Mass. district considers ways to recover meal debt

A Massachusetts school district is seeking to recover at least a portion of the $10,000 students have accrued in unpaid meal balances. One proposal includes the adoption of a policy that would allow the district to involve small claims court if the debt is not paid in a timely manner. Officials have rejected a clause to tie meal debt to the release of students' report cards.
