Report: FAA should tighten security on pilot data

An audit report by the U.S. Transportation Department's Office of Inspector General recommended tightening security for data collected by the Federal Aviation Administration on pilots and aircraft. "FAA has not implemented needed security controls over the registry’s configuration and account management to mitigate the risk of unauthorized access to [personally identifiable information]," the report said.
