Summer program educates teachers about the Holocaust

Two dozen teachers from the U.S., Croatia and Poland recently participated in a five-day workshop at Columbia University in New York to learn how to teach students about the Holocaust. Among the participants was Lauren Miller, a middle-school teacher at St. Albert the Great Catholic School in Kettering, Ohio, who said she learned about how primary sources, such as treaties and diaries, can help students better understand history and the Holocaust.
