Twitter offered news, catharsis in wake of Zimmerman acquittal

The Twitter uproar at George Zimmerman's acquittal was split between information- and news-focused tweets, and more angry and opinionated commentary, according to a Pew Research Center analysis. Straight news accounted for 39% of tweets, while anger at the verdict accounted for about 31% of tweets, compared with 7% who tweeted in support of the ruling and 11% who discussed the media's role in the proceedings.
