Uruguay forecasts fall in 2013 citrus crops

Citrus production in Uruguay is expected to decline by 88,000 metric tons to 243,000 MT this year, led by a 33% drop in lemon crops, according to the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fishing. Freezes in 2012 followed by severe weather this year are to blame for the declines, the ministry said.
