Colo. governor, business leaders strive to defeat ballot measures

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper said he and business executives are doing everything they can to fight proposed ballot measures aimed at amending the state constitution to bar drilling wells 2,000 feet from structures and authorize communities to restrict energy development. "These measures risk thousands and thousands of jobs and billions in investment and hundreds of millions of dollars in state tax revenue," he said. Hickenlooper added that he has not secured enough votes to "pass bipartisan legislation in a special session."
