Heart CT scan linked to cancer risk

A new report finds that the computed tomography coronary angiography could increase the risk of cancer in young adults and women due to its high dose of radiation. The specialized X-ray, which allows a noninvasive view of the arteries and inner workings of the heart compared to traditional angiograms, carries a 1-in-143 lifetime risk of developing cancer for a 20-year-old woman.
