New surgical procedure may encourage more living donors

Doctors hope that a new surgical procedure that uses a single incision in the bellybutton to remove organs will encourage more living donors to consider kidney donation. The surgery minimizes recovery time, pain and scarring, and researchers say the first 10 recipients and donors who underwent the procedure have done well.
