Port Authority asks FAA to improve air New York-area traffic control

After several near collisions in New York and New Jersey, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has asked the FAA to improve air traffic control systems in the New York metro area. An FAA spokeswoman said the agency is moving away from radar to more-precise satellite systems in the near future.
