AA enters purchase-leaseback deal with AerCap Holdings

American Airlines and AerCap Holdings have agreed to a purchase-leaseback transaction that will allow the carrier to finance up to 35 Boeing 737-800s. "We are pleased to significantly expand our relationship with AerCap and diversify our financing strategies," said Bella Goren, chief financial officer at AMR, the parent company of American Airlines. "This arrangement is a great reflection of the flexibility we have to efficiently raise capital in support of AMR's strategic fleet renewal efforts."
