The Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning is the best known and most trusted of major athletes among boomers, according to a survey by E-Poll Marketing Research. As a result, marketers that have attached their names to Manning, including Sony and MasterCard, have a better chance of reaching big-spending boomers. Rounding out the top five athletes for name recognition are Shaun White, Apolo Ohno, Michael Phelps and Derek Jeter.
