Should Australian schools offer shooting as a sport?

In New South Wales, Australia, the Shooters and Fishers Party is lobbying for more schools to introduce shooting as an official sport. The group also is seeking to lift some gun laws that place restrictions on ownership and use of guns by children. Critics say the school proposal is another way to introduce guns to young children. "Most parents do not want their kids going from geography to maths to weapons training," said Greens upper house MP David Shoebridge.
