Early 3D adopter realizes savings, new precision in prototyping

3D printing allows prototyping of products to proceed much more quickly and efficiently than in the past, according to Withings, a maker of consumer health care devices that was an early adopter of the technology. "Designers often create a design just as we describe it to them, but after seeing it for real, we notice that we need to change something. In the long run, 3D printing processes have a profound impact on the quality of our products," said Bastien Rechke, a mechanical engineer at Withings.
