Futility marks consumer attitude toward personal data collection

An Ad Age survey found 80% of consumers say that while they aren't thrilled about companies gathering their personal information when they shop, they plan to accept the trend and shop as they would otherwise. A majority of shoppers also cited the benefit of receiving targeted offers as a result of data collection.
