Gold nanofibers blended with heart tissue produce stronger beat

Gold nanofibers interwoven with cardiac tissue boosts cell connectivity, producing much stronger contractions, Israeli scientists have found. Researchers at Tel Aviv University's Department of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology and the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology have successfully integrated heart cells with gold, producing cardiac tissue that's more viable for transplantation.
