House panel blames sequester for NASA budget cut

The House Appropriations Committee approved a $1.1 billion cut to NASA's budget, a move GOP members say was forced by sequestration. The $16.6 billion budget proposed for NASA next year is part of a bill that moves to the full House, and meanwhile, the Senate is moving forward with its own bill that contains a slightly higher budget for NASA. The House measure cuts funding to NASA's space, exploration and science work.
