Mother Nature smiles on Irish produce growers

High summer temperatures have hit Ireland after a cold, wet winter and spring, spurring optimism among the country's produce growers. "Last year, we saw the worst potato harvest in recent years, but this year, it is looking fantastic. Sales of strawberries, stone fruit and salads have seen a big boost from the high temperatures," said Justin Leonard, managing director of Dublin-based produce supplier Jackie Leonard and Sons.
