NPD: TV watching on mobiles doesn't hurt bigger TV sales

While more owners of smartphones and tablet computers are watching video on their mobile devices, many say the screens aren't big enough and the audio quality isn't up to snuff, according to The NPD Group. “There is a commonly held belief that the increasing popularity of tablet PCs and smartphones will cannibalize or otherwise adversely affect sales of other devices. While we see that tablet PC ownership affects the purchase of smaller-sized TVs, there has not been much impact on purchases of TVs larger than 30 inches," NPD's Riddhi Patel said.
