Patients demand plastic surgery to look good in a digital world

Growing demand for plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures to look good on social media sites prompted plastic surgeon Robert Sigal to start offering the FaceTime Facelift, and a Facebook application lets users crowdsource answers to questions about plastic surgery. "Neurotoxins, fillers, laser procedures as well as neck- and face-lifts and eyelid tucks are being requested by these 'social' individuals," said former American Society of Plastic Surgeons President Malcolm Roth. "Having plastic surgery has become more acceptable, and the public has learned that when it is performed by board-certified plastic surgeons, it is usually very safe."
