Prolonged exposure therapy reduces depression, PTSD symptoms

Researchers analyzed data on 1,931 veterans with PTSD and found that those who received prolonged exposure therapy experienced significant improvements in PTSD and depression symptoms. The proportion of veterans who met screening criteria for a PTSD diagnosis dropped by about half from baseline to the end of therapy, researchers reported in JAMA Psychiatry.
