Restaurant marketers could be missing out by not catering to Gen X

Most of the recent demographic research regarding restaurants is focused on millennials who are cutting back on dining out spending and baby boomers, who lead in restaurant visits now but are on the verge of retirement, writes Alicia Kelso. Meanwhile, the generation in the middle goes largely ignored by researchers and restaurant marketers. "Gen X has higher disposable incomes and lower unemployment rates than the much-sought-after millennials. And we aren't retiring and taking our disposable incomes with us anytime soon, like the boomers."
