A bright-eyed intern for Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina has found unexpected fame after he circulated an earnest e-mail appealing for staffers and interns to join together and say the Pledge of Allegiance each morning before work. "I know saying the pledge isn't going to straighten out this economy we are in, but I believe it's the little things that will take us far in life," the intern wrote. The e-mail quickly went viral, drawing snickers from battle-hardened Beltway staffers.
