Study: Java vulnerabilities remain in many enterprise networks

Just 3% of about 1 million enterprise endpoint systems monitored by security firm Bit9 are running Java 7 Update 21, and many enterprise networks run Java 6, which Oracle stopped supporting in April, Lucian Constantin writes. Harry Sverdlove, Bit9's chief technology officer, says clean installations of Java 7 won't remove Java 5 installations, among other potential security issues.
