Survey shows many providers still don't understand value of ICD-10

A survey by eHealth Initiative and AHIMA reveals that many health groups remain unaware of the benefits of the ICD-10 codes required by Oct. 1, 2014, with 26% of respondents saying they don't have specific objectives for using the codes other than to process claims. The survey also notes that about 59% of provider practices believe the move to ICD-10 will lead to a substantial revenue decline, while 1 in 4 hospitals aren't sure of the project's costs.
