U.K. retail sales in June extend gains

Adding to signs of U.K. recovery, retail sales in June extended May's gain, rising 0.2%. "This rise in retail sales probably has some legs. Consumer spending broadly can help the current run rate of GDP growth move higher," said David Tinsley, a BNP Paribas economist in London.
