The U.S. needs to conduct a new test of its missile defense system as quickly as possible, says Missile Defense Agency Director Vice Adm. James Syring, who wants two tests of the intercept system next year. Syring made the comments following the third failed test of the defense system, a failure that has the system's critics complaining it is an unproven waste of money. But Syring said the system is needed. "We cannot stop testing. We must continue to test," he said. "We cannot wait another four-and-a-half to five years to test again."
