3rd-grade teacher uses Minecraft to teach common core math

A third-grade teacher saw increases in standardized test scores after he began using the game Minecraft to teach math lessons aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The teacher, Jim Pike, offers tips and examples of how he did it, such as writing equations that students must solve to create structures such as The Parthenon.
