Advertising is front-page news

The Wall Street Journal will begin running ads on its front page as soon as September. Although the paper offers ads on the front of some individual sections and on the front page of international editions, the decision to place the "jewel box," square-shaped ads on page one of the U.S. version marks a turning point for the print industry, as it grapples with the digital age.
