AMA, public health experts aim to integrate disaster response

A coalition of experts from the American Medical Association and public health organizations have called for integration between the IT systems of health care providers and public health organizations, to enable better disaster response. The coalition's recommendations include the development of real-time systems communications between all disaster response participants, interoperable EHR systems for early responders, and early notification and warning systems.
