Co-location of doctors with pathologists does not lead to more tests

The presence of a pathology clinic in the same building as a doctor's practice does not influence doctors to order more blood tests, according to an Australian study. The results show that there is no reason for concern that doctors tend to order more tests when they are co-located with a pathology facility, a researcher said.
