U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., have been quarreling about the fate of the food-safety bill proposed by Dingell. In a letter, Dingell said Feinstein may be jeopardizing the bill by trying to ban the chemical bisphenol A from food containers. "Our choices are becoming increasingly clear: We can either find middle ground, or we can become obstinate in our views and fail to meet any of our goals," Dingell wrote. Meanwhile, Feinstein says that she and other senators are seeking a solution on BPA, but she will offer an amendment if that fails.
