Marketers don't lack for places to seek social-media advice

Interpublic Group's Universal McCann and Publicis Groupe's Vivaki are among the major ad agencies launching special units to handle social media. McCann this week opens Rally, which is being helmed by a former MySpace executive, while Vivaki plans to launch its consultancy by the end of the year. However, these units face strong competition from a range of rivals trying to assert their social expertise -- including digital and social-media specialists, PR firms and publishing companies.
