Germany certifies electric aircraft

The eSpyder, developed and produced by China's Yuneec International, has become the first all-electric airplane to gain certification. The German government certified the single-seat airplane in February, but the announcement was only recently made. The production of the eSpyder is expected to begin this year and it will be available in the U.S. as a kit airplane.
