Rolling out a hybrid transportation solution yields better results than adopting a fixed, inflexible transportation strategy, writes Ryder's transportation management group director, Scott Nemeth. A hybrid transportation strategy combines dedicated fleets and common carrier fleets to optimize delivery, reduce empty miles and boost fuel efficiency. "Shippers typically realize savings of between 5 and 10 percent with a hybrid solution," Nemeth adds.
